It's been a crazy couple of months. We have been adjusting to the shift from the "summer at home while mommy is on maternity leave" routine to the "back to school, work and life" routine. With the kids returning to their respective learning institutions come a whole new set of problems. After everyone is dropped off and after I repeat the same speech every single day... "please don't bite anyone, keep your hands to yourself, don't do peepee in your pants, listen to your teacher"... I leave to work and wonder WHAT WONDERFUL ADVENTURE AM I GOING TO BE A PART OF TODAY?
The day usually starts with a call from my mom, while Casey is screaming her head off in the background. WHAT'S WRONG WITH HER?... Mom? I don't know!
Then it's on to hope and pray no one calls from the school to deliver any unwanted news.
At 4:30 it's decision time... What kind of a night are we going to have? Will Spongebob come on when we walk through the door? Or will someone spend all evening sitting on their bed waiting for dinner to be done?
So far the events we can discuss are:
Lucas punching a kid in the gut
Lucas biting a kid in the hand
Tyler peeing in his pants... 4 days in a row
Kids throwing cats
Teacher asking "what does Tyler eat for breakfast? Because he gets here and won't stop screaming!"... Peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches lady! DUH!
The joys of parenthood are plenty... the way I could best describe it is like running on a treadmill. Sometimes you do a lot of work, but you never ever really go anywhere.
