Radio Rules

The older a child gets, the more knowledge he or she soaks up. Then at some point they get old enough to realize that the things they knew as children had a whole different meaning. This is the perfect example.

We've become the radio Nazis... thanks to the mediocre at best radio stations in South Florida and the crap they put on the radio. We must be VERY careful with what we allow to play on our commutes... but sometimes, things slip through the cracks.

We can allow lyrics like "When you see my face hope it gives you HELL, hope it gives you HELL" or "Shoosh girl! shut your lips, do the Helen Keller and talk with your hips!"... both of which are usually sung at the top of their lungs!

But someday our kids will grow up and realize that...

Snoop Dog's "Sexual Seduction" is NOT a song about ducks.

Lil Wayne's "Lollipop" is NOT a song about Candy...

and Jeremih's "Birthday Sex" is NOT a song about your 6th Birthday.

  1. So well put. I can tell I'm going to enjoy following this blog. It will be my bible in the next few years.

  2. as my son gets older, i relate with and understand more every day the blessing known as seperate audio zones in vehicles and/or personal media players...i don't know how much more Disney music my adult brain can withstand until it disintegrates.

when that's not on, we listen to XM...i think the local radio stations would goo-ify my grey matter much faster than supercalifragilisticexpialadocious
